Denture Repair

Repair of mandible or maxilla broken denture with Dentapreg PFU always involves several basic procedures repeated in all situations:

Broken denture
1. Fractured denture 2. Stick together the broken parts of denture 3. Prepare the gypsum pad
4. Grind the edges of both parts of denture 5. Cut the canal(s) 6. Measure the required length of Dentapreg PFU strip
7. Place a layer of denture base resin to the canal(s) 8. Cut and place the Dentapreg PFU strip 9. Light cure Dentapreg PFU strip(s)
10. Cover the cured strips with denture base resin 11. Polymerize the repaired denture and then polish it

Preparation of anatomical stress free posts with Dentapreg PFU always involves several basic procedures repeated in all particular clinical situations:

1. Clean the root canal
2. Measure the length of the required Dentapreg PFU strip
3. Apply adhesive system
4. Cut the Dentapreg PFU strip to required length
5. Insert Dentapreg PFU strip to root canal
6. Light pre-cure the Dentapreg
PFU strip
7. Remove Dentapreg PFU strip from the root canal and light cure it
8. Apply dual curing cement on cured Dentapreg PFU strip
9. Insert Dentapreg PFU strip to the root canal
10. Clean the overflowing cement in the flaring area
11. Light cure the cement
12. Final solution of Dentapreg
PFU

General Remarks for Working with Dentapreg PFU

  • Dental stone model is a good training tool for trials of  DentapregTM PFU
  • Avoid sharp edges and undercuts on the model
  • Before forming  Dentapreg PFU strip on a model, always apply separation liquid or wax
  • Always use the widest clinically acceptable Dentapreg PFU strip
  • During forming and adaptation of the Dentapreg PFU strip advance slowly from one end to the other to allow for a good adaptation of the fibrous reinforcement and small flow of the resin to avoid defects and shape memory effect
  • In order to minimize potential damage to the fibers, it is recommended to use plastic instruments for dental filling composites
  • When preparing the strip (measuring, trimming), keep the strip in its original transparent protection foil to avoid contamination
  • Avoid sharp edges and extremely small interproximal curvatures when forming  Dentapreg PFU strips to prevent fiber breakage
  • Most commercially available light or dual curing dental adhesives can be used to bond Dentapreg PFU strips
  • Adhere according to the acid etching and adhesive  procedures recommended by the manufacturer of the etching agents and adhesive
  • Polishing or sand blasting of cured DentapregPFU should be avoided, to enhance patient comfort and maintain good hygienic conditions, a layer of light curing hybrid composite can be applied on the Dentapreg PFU surface and polished with standard procedures
  • Endodontic block is a good training tool for preparation of anatomical stress free post from Dentapreg PFU
